Widnes based UK Self Store has a range of indoor storage units in a variety of sizes. Suitable for both domestic and commercial storage, our site provides clients with a safe and secure location to store goods on a short-term or long-term basis. The most common question we are asked is about the size of unit a customer will require, so we have put together this easy to follow guide to hiring a storage unit at UK Self Store.
Our smallest units are available at 25 or 30 square foot and are suitable for the contents of a small workshop, a single bedroom with flat-packed furniture, archive boxes or a fridge/freezer, tumble dryer and washing machine. These units are best suited for goods that can be freestanding or stacked on top of one another.
Next up are our 50 square foot units, which will fit the contents of a standard sized Transit Van. You’ll get the average sofa and some flat-packed furniture into one of these units with ease, or a double bed, mattress, wardrobes, and the contents of a bedroom.
Our most popular units are our 75 square foot size, which is equivalent to the size of a standard Luton Box Van. These units are currently used by our customers to store the contents of a small restaurant kitchen, furniture from a one-bedroom apartment, and tools/supplies for workers of varying trades.
If you are looking for even more space, we have a few 100 and 200 square foot units available, and we can combine units of differing sizes to offer even more space if necessary.
If you store with us, you should know that your items should be freestanding. Some of our units have load-bearing walls, but you should not rest heavy items on our interior corrugated walls. Fridges, freezers and washing appliances should be left open to allow air to circulate, and we regret that we are not able to store dangerous chemicals, petrol or gas canisters. We recommend that any items such as mattresses, sofas and chairs be covered before storing. If you’re storing for a longer term, we suggest storing on our mezzanine floor, and short-term rentals and those requiring daily access can store on our ground floor subject to space availability.
